Built to keep you glued to the bike when things get sketchy, this shoe is all about better-when-wet performance. Think: confident footing when the roots are slick, rocks are greasy, and the weather’s doing its worst.

At the heart of it is Hero Rubber™ (MTB-G Compound), our custom-engineered high‑friction compound inspired by “hero dirt” — that perfect, tacky soil every rider dreams about. After two and a half years of testing and tweaking, we landed on a super‑sticky, high‑coefficient rubber that:

  • Grips hard in the dry
  • Gets even stickier when wet, for peace of mind when you’re doing 30 mph over a rock garden
  • Stays remarkably durable instead of shredding away after a few rides
  • Has a low rebound rate to help soak up impact on hard landings

That grippy‑but‑tough rubber formula is our bread and butter—it’s what riders keep calling out and praising in reviews and forum posts.

Underfoot, Hero Rubber™ works together with a high‑density EVA midsole and an anti‑shock / anti‑vibration silicone insole pad to take the sting out of rough trails and repeated pedal strikes.

Up front, a reinforced toe cap adds protection against rock strikes and awkward dabs—built to help guard against the kind of hits that can lead to fractures. Combined with the overall construction, these shoes are built with tank‑like durability in mind.

From day one, riders kept asking us for more room up front, so we built in an extra‑wide toe box to give your toes space to splay instead of getting crushed into a point. The goal: a fit that feels closer to how your foot actually wants to live inside a cycling shoe, not how a dress shoe is shaped.

Put it all together and you get a flat pedal shoe that blends width, grip, durability, weight, and all‑day comfort in a way we’re genuinely proud of. Whether you’re dropping into chunky mountain lines, hike‑a‑biking to the good stuff, or walking rainy city streets, this is the pair we reach for first.

The 2.0 shoe: same idea, much better fit

The current 2.0 model is an evolution of the original design, built in response to repeated requests and real‑world use from riders like you. Two of the biggest changes:

  • We’re now punching lace holes through the upper in key areas for added reliability and strength.
  • Each pair is manually widened in the toe box before shipping, which has significantly improved the overall fit for riders wanting a closer‑to‑barefoot feel.

All of this is custom work done by hand here at our Texas shop/warehouse.

For sizing, all selectable sizes are listed in U.S. men’s. Use the conversion chart below to find the right fit for your region and gender before you order.

Size Comparison Chart

Sizing Note – 2.0 Standard Fit vs Wide Fit

By popular request, the 2.0 wide fit is now our go-to option for wider feet. Each pair is mechanically heat‑widened in our Texas shop before it leaves the warehouse—using the same kind of process you see in the ski and snowboard world. We’re the first MTB shoe brand to bring this heat-stretch method to flat pedal shoes.

  • Standard Fit: tends to run about ½ size large. If you normally wear a 10.5, or are between a 10.5 and 11, we suggest ordering a size 10.
  • Wide Fit: runs true to size for most riders with wider or “barefoot-style” feet.

If you’re on the fence between the two, go 2.0 wide fit and your usual size—that’s what we designed it for.

Unparalleled Ride Technology

Made for the most epic rides and riders on the planet, our shoes have been designed specifically by riders for riders — not suits in boardrooms.

Hero Rubber™ (MTB-G Compound) Outsole

Specially formulated to work better in extreme muddy + wet conditions, keeping your feet glued to the pedal pins like strong rare earth magnets. Ditch the competition and experience Heroic level grip + durability like no other.

Stitchless & Seamless

Thermo-welded construction reduces weight by eliminating unnecessary layers and seams, while minimizing overall material usage and improving mud & water resistance.

Confidence Inspiring Style

Ride with confidence and a signature style inspired by custom mountain bike frame protectors and graphic prints.

Protective Toe Cap

Thermo-welded + 3D heat molded toe cap protects the vital toe area from tree branches, hard impacts, or rock strikes.

Elastic Lace Keeper

Keeps loose laces from snagging in the chain, chain ring, crank arms or other parts of the crankset — and out of harm's way.

Laser Ventilation

Engineered laser perforations are strategically placed around the shoe to let air in — while keeping water, mud, dirt and debris out.

Diamondstōk Tread

Optimal tread pattern empirically tested in the field to create a maximum interlocking sensation with the metal pedal pins, while minimizing jarring vibrational rattling.

Hidden Laces

A protective barrier guards the laces against rips, cuts, or tears caused by rubbing against the crankset or from tree branches.

High Ankle Support*

Guards ankles from rubbing against the cranks, as well as minimize rolls or sprains caused by steep landings or bailouts. (*A-Line model only)

DualTraction Pedal + Hike Grid

A dense grid pattern in the forefoot creates a large contact patch for the pedals, while ruggedly-spaced treads in the front and rear provide optimal grip while traversing multiple off-bike hiking terrains.

Wide Toe Box

One of the widest fits on the market (US 1.5E) gives increased room and reduces lateral rubbing in the toe area — especially for those with large or extra wide feet.

Raised Midsole Arch

Raised midsole arch on the medial side supports the inner foot muscles during high drops, impacts, and steep landings.

Conquer the Elements

Travel the farthest, unexplored terrains as you'd like—with Hero Rubber by your side, you're ready to do it all. Our shoes are also thermally insulated for optimal performance in both warm and cold climates.

Sticky Rubber You Can Trust

Hero Rubber™ is backed with empirical testing and lab science and is the only rubber that becomes stickier when wet.

Unlike other brands that only offer sticky rubber in black — we've specially developed our rubber so that it can be dyed in any color, while still retaining the same level of high-friction and grip.

Drag

Redefined Ride Comfort + Performance

Whether riding casual or rowdy, we've taken all the guesswork out and designed our shoes for both — so you can simply get after it.

Drag

Unisex Style & Fit

We've designed our shoes to look, feel, and fit just as well for both guys and gals alike (gals, please add +1.5 size to US M's).

Drag

Redefine The Way You Ride

Experience how our Unparalleled Ride Technology gives you superhuman confidence by transforming the way you ride.

Unlike other MTB shoe brands that use inferior quality rubber compounds, which either offer subpar grip or fall apart after a few rides, our proprietary high-friction coefficient Hero Rubber™ formula undergoes rigorous testing standards in order to grip where you need it, when you need it — so you can focus on enjoying the ride.

Bike or Hike

Designed with high quality features and materials that function equally as well as a hiking shoe, for days when you're trekking outside without the bike.

MTB shoes praised for wide, roomy toe box ideal for difficult-to-fit feet. Customers said they're "sturdy and comfortable" with excellent grip on flat pedals. Waterproofing keeps feet dry in muddy conditions. However, some found sizing inconsistent and the upper very stiff off-bike. One customer reported service issues. Overall highly rated for trail performance.

Sturdy, comfy, protected!

I love how they are sturdy and my feet feel protected. Since they are waterproof my feet stay dry when it’s rainy or muddy, and I don’t slip off my flat pedals. They are are also
Comfortable to walk around in and I feel secure ( unlike other bike shoes)

I have clown shaped feet. Finding mountain bike shoes, both clipless and flats, have been hard to find. I recently went from clipless to flats because of balance/health issues. I came across somebodies post about Anamoly's 2.0 shoes. They are located a couple hours from me so I thought I'd give them a shot.

Boy, am I glad I did. I have switched over to barefoot style shoes over the past 2 years and they are the only thing I wear now. The new Pin-Locks are a huge suprise in how well they fit. I understand that they heat stretch the toe box before sending them out. The shape of the toebox is about 3/4 of the way there on being a barefoot shape. I have found that I can wear these shoes for hours without any foot pain. They are stiff where they need to be, grippy sole on flats. I'm getting ready to order a second set.

Nice fit but not a good riding shoe for enduro/dh

I ordered the wide fit, and they truly are wide and comfortable in that way. The uppers look and feel like bowling shoes, stiff and with very little breathability, they run very warm but do not run in any weird way. They are firm underfoot while walking and noticeably slippery on smooth garage concrete. Traction seems to be almost solely based on where in the pattern of the sole that the pedal pins are. You can wiggle them around a bit to find that locked in placement, but it’s probably not exactly where you want it and it’s easy to bounce out in rough terrain. The rubber is very stiff in warm weather, in the cold I imagine they will be borderline not usable.

It’s a shame because the fit inside is very nice.

As a shoe for MTBing, they disappeared, they are confidence inspiring and comfortable on the trail. I cannot compare rubber with other bike shoes, because I can't find one that fit!, 510's and Crankbothers just don't fit me, and I don't even have that wide a foot.

As shoe for off the bike though... incredibly stiff upper, the fit around the ankle is not terribly forgiving. I really won't wear these unless I am biking and only biking.

As a bike accessory 5 stars, as a shoe it leaves a bit to be desired. They fit my needs on the trail, but I effectively treat them like any clipless shoe mentally, and put them on when I get to the trail, take them off immediately after the ride.

Absolutely worst service I've experienced. Shoes were not wide as advertised & could not get a hold of anyone on any email or platform. I had to file a charge dispute to get a refund. Do not do business with this company.

Hi Chris—Chris here, founder of Anamoly. I appreciate you sharing your experience, and I want to address this directly.

We take customer service seriously, and I'm sorry your concern didn't reach us through an official channel in time. As a founder-led brand, I was heads-down building Anamoly while managing a full-time job, and a message sent to a secondary social account slipped through the cracks—that's on me, and I own it. Had we received an official return request, we would have handled it gladly and promptly, as we do for all our customers.

That said, we've grown since then and our support process is tighter. We stand fully behind the quality of our products and always will.

On that note—if you ever want to give us another shot, I'd love to personally invite you to try our new 2026 Wide Fit model. Built directly in response to customer feedback requesting a wider fit, it's a 2E/EE width (Brannock standard), custom heat-stretched here at our Texas shop, adding 15–20mm of extra toe box width over the original 1.0 design—a real, measurable difference that's made a significant impact on fit. Reach out to us at support@anamolylabs.com and I'll make sure you're taken care of.

What great shoes, everything they are advertised as and more, wide and roomy toe box is the reason for buying but the grip is perfect (no doubt equal to five ten). I would say the sole is stiffer than I would have liked, but that is the only gripe but irrelevant compared to the pluses.
They are well made and comfortable time will tell durability and waterproofing is almost irrelevant as the is a large hole in the top when your foot goes that lets a lot of water in!
Also great help/guidance when contacting by email.

These shoes are awesome! Tread pattern on the sole is supper grippy. Very comfy and have that broken in feel right out of the box. The material seems super durable and lightweight/breathable as well. Love the toe protection — wasn't scared of catching any rocks with the front of my foot today.

I'm stoked on the purchase and had people asking about them in the lift line — head turners for sure!

The shoes are super slick and I really like them. You guys did a great job. I really hope you guys' company continues to make shoes and break into the mountain biking community. Excited for your company to take off.

It's a really cool concept. I think this could be a really big hit.

Jonny Thompson, Fit4Racing Founder / Head Coach

The Anamoly MTB shoes have been keeping me planted on the bike lately. I've really been enjoying them and they seem to be holding up a lot better than a lot of other shoes I've tried.
